My experience is that if the volume of chat is low, splitting into a dev and non-dev chat causes the channels to suffer. There is some sort of lower limit for a community to sustain itself, be it end users or developers. But you are correct on the flip side, if the volume of chat is high then having multiple channels is perfect as both communities sustain their numbers and activity just fine.

we could give this a try https://github.com/Schamper/nodebb-plugin-shoutbox

@strawberry-3.141 Shoutbox would be actually kinda neat I think, also since it will remain on this website and we won’t have to use some third party website for it

Well… after looong time https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/4759/magicmirror-in-slack-we-ll-see-you-there

I ran a TeamSpeak MagicMirror Help Desk server for quite some time but I took it down for lack of use. I’d be more than happy to put it back up if you wanted use of it. There is Chat, Voice, Public Rooms, Private Rooms, Uploads and Downloads, Admin Priveleges, etc… TeamSpeak is free and rock solid.

I put it back up if you want to test it or take a look at it. Directions for connection are in the link above

@Mykle1 Oh, thanks but the main core team prefer using Slack. That does not mean if you want maintain this medium … go a head.

Ok, that’s fine. I just wanted to offer it in case it was wanted or needed. I can always put it back up at a moments notice, for anyone that would like to use it.
I would like to join your Slack server. I’m always interested in a new way of doing things.
Peace!
