      I ran it through a syntax validator and everything checks out with that, but I’m still getting the Please create a config file error. I was modifying the MMM-iFrame module and hit a wrong key and the config closed. after bringing it back open i saved and reloaded and now nothing. I cant figure it out. Thanks for any help. Here’s my config file:

      var config = {
              port: 8080,
              ipWhitelist: ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1"], // Set [] to allow all IP addresses
                                                                     // or add a specific IPv4 of 192.168.1.5 :
                                                                     // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.1.5"],

        @TaylorTech22 do you have the following line at the bottom?

        /*************** DO NOT EDIT THE LINE BELOW ***************/
        if (typeof module !== "undefined") {module.exports = config;}

        also is your config file named correctly

        Please create a github issue if you need help, so I can keep track

              @TaylorTech22 Did you to remove the modules one by one to see which one is going wrong ?

                My suggestion would be start over… use the standard config and add one thing at a time…see if it works then add the next until you get to what’s not working…

                    another thing I could spot from viewing your config is that the timezone for the clock module should go into a config: {}, but this will not help you out with the black screen.

                      Somebody should make EASY configuration system, or… all module developers should provide DEFAULT ACTIVE SAMPLE CONFIGURATION.
                      Or, at least, neater JSlint parser should be supported.

                              @Sean there is remotecontrol and admininterface to configure the mirror, most of the devs supply a sample config without api keys and and somewhere out there is a linter https://twitter.com/roramirez/ status/843121280601669632 @roramirez

                                      well, I figured it out… Thats what i get for not pasting the ENTIRE file into the syntax checker. The very first item of very first line had a ] before the text. dont know how it got there. good thing i copied my original config in a text editor. Thanks for all the help.

                                        @strawberry-3.141 Sounds nice. but looks not sufficient for beginners. (For me, sometimes configuration problem throws a headache to me. Even that module was which I made.) Maybe we need totally different approach in next version.(But I have no idea how to do. )

                                        I’m not a developer, I worked as products and business designer, so I meet not only experts but also the end users in every day . One thing I’ve found, MM is a real good toy for hobbyists. but this approach is somehow difficult to who is not familiar with IT.

                                        Whatever, my mention was just grumbling. nevermind. :)

                                            @Sean said in config error somewhere, need help:

                                            all module developers should provide DEFAULT ACTIVE SAMPLE CONFIGURATION.

                                            Personally, I DO provide a config entry with each module and I think most others do, as well. However, I have seen some that were not complete, where copying and pasting would only result in an error.

                                            In the meantime, I refer people to How to add modules, which should give them a better understanding of the process.

                                            Create a working config
