Glossy or Non-Glossy Display
-
I allready did.
I have only 40x30 Mirror. So the glas isnt that expensive and the first display was a gift. Till now, the Mirror wasnt that expensive ^^ -
@thedk It’s also very important to have no light coming to the glass from behind. However your setup is, make sure that it is as dark as possible behind the glass.
-
Yes. I made a black Frame between the display and the frame of the mirror.
I’ll post a picture later. -
Today the MIRASTAR glas came.
Had a look again at the Display. Its a glossy one. Always thought its a non glossy. Maybe i will change this. Here ist the different between the glas:
MIRROPANE
Without light
MIRASTAR
Without light

Picture Upload doesnt work
This happens to me if the picture is too high in resolution. Try making it smaller maybe
-
Uploaded again. A lil bit big, but have a look.
-
@thedk So what’s your conclusion?
It’s difficult to really see the difference from the pictures.
And what types of Mirastar and Mirropane have you chosen and where have you bought them (I’m from germany as well) -
Bought at Brigla-shop.de. Cheapest shop i found.
Both are 4mm glas. The Mirastar is way darker, looks like you cant see everything when i have the light on. But you can see everything and, very imporant for me, you cant see the Display anymore. -
@thedk I have a Mirastar from Brigla as well. And they are indeed the cheapest. I found it a bit too dark and too brownish/yellowish. But the mirror is in a small room without natural lighting. That may be my problem.
Now trying out the Mirropane Chromespy 4mm in a better lit room. -

In case you haven’t and for completeness: Keep in mind as well that the css colors are set to quite dark greys, so additionally to mirror transmission, monitor brightness, you can as well maipulate the brightness of the texts using css.
I have the feeling that lots of people don’t think abou that.
