can you give me your monitor dimensions so i can adjust?
-
I have a 24" monitor rotated 90 degrees so the basically tipped up so length wise it’s up and down…
max resolution for 24" monitor … 1920 x 1080 resolution
-
@Eunanibus Can you make it smaller. I am using x-small on my main mirror, an 15.6 laptop screen rotated 90 degrees but it’s not rendering. The module does render when I visit the website from my phone or my laptop.
Aside from that, the module looks great. -
No problem. I’ll try and add improved rendering sizes this evening and release an update. What resolution are you using?
-
I’m using 768x1366
-
This module is awesome. I have it up & running at the office and it looks fantastic.
Question: I added a bunch of custom locations, which is great. But they don’t seem to be replacing the default locations. So I’m getting my locations and the ones that came pre-loaded. Is this by design?
-
@d3r Thanks for your feedback. I’ve made those adjustments and pushed the latest code. Give this a try and get back to me. The X-Small/Small/Medium sizes etc should show a sufficient difference between sizes now.
I’m really glad you’re enjoying it. If you could take a picture of your mirror with it in action, it would really be something (I don’t have a mirror of my own and it’s really motivational to see a picture of something I wrote on someone’s wall)
In response to your question - No, once you’ve entered custom locations, the default locations are not added.
As an example - Here is an example config entry:

And here is the resulting globe produced:

It’s a little odd you’re getting that behaviour, and I may need you to send me your config file so I can debug accordingly. Try pulling the latest version (1.1 just uploaded) and see if that helps. I may add a further config option to exlude/include default Locations as a specification.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Made some size adjustments now. Can you give this a try?
-
@Eunanibus Whatever change you made solved most of my problem. Now when I add locations, only the locations I add are being labeled.
I’m still seeing a bunch of nameless pins all over the globe. I’m going to have to turn those off.
-
@bhepler - Glad that fixed it. The nameless pins are just there for aesthetic and appearance. If you want those removed, you can change the content of data.js to the following:
data = []That should remove the nameless pins without needing to change or affect any of the remaining application.
-
@Eunanibus That it did. Thank you.
I’ll get it up on the mirror in the office today and send you a picture.
-
Fantastic job on the module @Eunanibus !

PERFECT! :) HUGE Thanks!

Great. Glad it’s working for you! Thanks for the early feedback. I’m not sure if I’ve posted this in the right place but I hope everyone sees it or gets to use it.

Now this is curious… It works great on my Windows 10 box (Chrome or Firefox). It works great on my Ubuntu 16.04 box at work (Chrome or Firefox). It works fantastic in Chrome or Firefox no matter the platform.
But when I run
npm startit doesn’t render anything to the screen. This is on an Ubuntu 16.04 microPC. Fascinating. -
Hello,
And my dream come true with your module thanks :Di have the same issue - the Globe doesnt show up and it’s look like my MMM profil swticher stop working :-/

I run my mirror in server mode and use chrome on raspbian to access it. For some reason, the module won’t render on my raspbian chrome build but the mirror site works fine from my laptop and phone(any browser). I’ll post some screenshots over the weekend.

What errors are you getting?
-
Hello
i only see that

The office is very impressed with the Globe module. Thanks again for making this one.
Here’s how it looks on an actual mirror. :)
