      Got an issue with white listing IPs. I am sure I am doing something wrong, but I cant for the life of me figure it out.

      I wanna whitelist the whole 192.168.0.x and possibly even 192.168.1.x networks /24

      I added this to my white list

      var config = {
              port: 8080,
              ipWhitelist: ["192.168.0.1/24 , ::ffff:192.168.0.1/24", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1"], // Set [] to allow all IP addresses
                                                                     // or add a specific IPv4 of 192.168.1.5 :
                                                                     // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.1.5"],
                                                                     // or IPv4 range of 192.168.3.0 --> 192.168.3.15 use CIDR format :
                                                                     // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.3.0/28"],

      The mirror boots fine (as opposed to black screening on me) but I get the

      “This device is not allowed to access your mirror.
      Please check your config.js or config.js.sample to change this.”

      error.

      Can someone give me something I can copy and paste…im not understanding this whitelist thing.

        You may or may not need the address: line. This will Whitelist all IP’s on the network. I don’t know if that is what you want. However, it should work.

        var config = {
        	port: 8080,
        	ipWhitelist: [],
        	address: "0.0.0.0",

              var config = {
                      port: 8080,
                      ipWhitelist: [], // Set [] to allow all IP addresses
                                  address:"0.0.0.0",                         // or add a specific IPv4 of 192.168.1.5 :
                                                                             // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.1.5"],
                                                                             // or IPv4 range of 192.168.3.0 --> 192.168.3.15 use CIDR format :
                                                                             // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.3.0/2$

                You tried with and without the address line?

                I know, it can be frustrating. Other people have had a similar problem. What I suggested to you has helped some of them. I’m sorry that it didn’t. Perhaps try searching the forum for Whitelist and see what you come up with. This one if just from the other day.

                  I do thank you for your time, but that thread is someone with the exact same problem as me and the answer is the same one you posed here and it doesnt work.

                  Why does it seem only a few people are having this issue?

                    I really can’t say why it happens to some and not others. It’s hard to troubleshoot for someone when there are so many unknowns. There are so many different setups (various Pi’s, PC’s, Mac’s, etc) all running different OS’s (various Raspbian flavors, various Windows versions, Mac OS, various uBuntu versions). This make’s it impossible for “one fix fits all” solutions. Personally, I do the best I can to help people that ask for help. There are many Whitelist topics that have been posted. I can only suggest that you use the search function here on the forum. In the meantime, someone else may have a suggestion that might work for you.

                    Best of luck to you

                        Not my area, but I was reading this: https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/1326/ipwhitelist-howto/8
                        and it mentions that the whitelisting on a range is for IPv6 , so maybe not working with IPv4.
                        Hope that help
