Hello all, my name is Daniel and go by 1m2 on diff. forums and what not.
I live in hot as heck Phoenix!
I’m 37 years old and gathering materials now to build my own mm2.
Been in IT for 16 some years, last 2-3 years I have been working as an Application Integration Test Engineer.
Love gadgets and tinkering but I’m not a heavy coder at all myself so I may enlist assistance from my code savvy brother only he doesn’t know it yet. lol.
My hobby thus far has been chopping up car dashes and removing the crappy radio’s they usually have and fabricating removable tablets into them with aftermarket hidden HU’s.
And… I don’t like long walks on the beach, only short ones.
Cheers! -

HI I’m Justin, I’m a rookie programmer and want to try building a Magic Mirror for my apartment. I’ve been looking at it for some months now. I’ve just been procrastinating. SO any pep talks please send my way.

Hi all,
I guess I should have come here when I first joined the forum but I was so anxious for information that I didn’t even see this category, initially.
I’m 58 years old. I am a retired New York City Police Officer. I now work for a local automobile titling and registration company. I have 3 children. My son, the youngest, is a Senior at Stevens Institute of Technology. You can thank (or blame) him for my being here. He introduced me to uBuntu and simply mentioned the Raspberry Pi to me before heading back to school. (See the full story in “Show your mirror”. The rest is history.
I would just like to mention 3 names. They are/were instrumental in helping me get my mirror up and running and continuing to answer my questions relating to customization.

Hi all,
My first forum message.
I’m am 54 years old and living in the Netherlands, working as an electrical engineer. Using the Raspberry Pi used in various projects.
Going to build a Magic Mirror with LED RGB background lighting, which is, of course, controlled by the Raspberry Pi.

Hi all,
I’m Christian, a 29 year old software developer from Hamburg, Germany. I love mobile and web technologies and new and evolving areas such as smart homes. I just planned to build my first MagicMirror over the next few weekends. You guys really built some cool modules already that I absolutely have to include. A big Thank You for that!
I love that there are already face recognition and voice control modules available, I hope I can help to take the next step with hooking up natural speech control (via Google Cloud Services or Microsoft Cognitive Services).
