Hi there Guys, Couple of questions ifI can? How do Idisable the interface, in order to play a video file full / partial screen, but still retaining the black background within MM… if this is how to do ithe following----- bhelper posted in Show your Mirror, where he uses a Halloween MP4 on a loop, and he disabled the interface firstly…I’m assuming he disabled all the Modules and retained the black background? also, would any Player work in this scenario, or will I need a specific player? I have not done this sorta thing on MM before, so all a bit new to the setup. Thanks

@sdetweil Ahhhh… right… I will defo be giving that a look. As you say, saves me playing around trying things in CSS and reloading mirror each time before I see if CSS worked or not… very time consuming! Thanks again Sam… appreciate all your help.

@Stoffbeuteluwe said in MMM-Sonos - by Snille: @johnnyboy Hi, do you know how to set the moving text (Titel / Artist) in a static text? my fan of my Mac mini go’s up when something is moving on my screen Sorry, no. Since you said it was hard coded, I never bothered to play about with it. but I turned on Mirror the other day and it is not showing anymore, so will need to find time to perhaps download it again.

@johnnyboy said in Portrait Mode: Not sure why, but my preferences show exactly the same options as Strech did… there is no Screen Configuration. Yeah, that’s a puzzler. Let me do some research and see if I can’t figure out what’s going on. It’s possible that I forgot a step. How embarassing.

Just tried this. It seems the fkms + display_rotate no longer works. There are some comments about in the rpi forums too, like this one: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=246146 Using the kms driver plus the edits to the autostart file worked for me. Is there a way to get an official update to the documentation?

@sdetweil said in What is proper procedure to uninstall MM for a fresh install?: @johnnyboy Stretch… Jesse pretty old… Buster just out Thanks. I ended up simply flashing the sd card for Stretch, and starting all over again, rather than build on what was already there… but good to know just to rename the MM folder, to re-do a fresh install.

All the sudo apt-get whatever command can be replace by sudo apt whatever apt does the same as apt-get but provide a progress bar in addition. Also you put two point 14. And the first one is missing a step and there is a a space missing. cd ~/MagicMirror should be cd ~/MagicMirror/modules and ~MagicMirror/modules/ $ gitclone https://github.com/NAMEOFMODULE should become ~MagicMirror/modules/ $ git clone https://github.com/NAMEOFMODULE But maybe instead of https://github.com/NAMEOFMODULE maybe it would be easier to say moduleUrl or something ? because the url doesn’t onlt content the url of the module but also who did it. So if somebody who never used git before try to write https://github.com/MMM-AlexaPi for example, it will fail. because part of the url is missing.

Hi I did restore my sd card from backup. and start instoling modules. backup only have default modules on it and alexa. Mic icon did not show up until I installed MMM-IMDBComingSoon. Pretty sure last time when I reinstall completely my mm-clock, I have installed something else, different module. I’m not sure which one. Anyway mic show up after i add this module. Each time installing new module I reboot device. [image: 1492620953075-screen-shot-2017-04-19-at-17.55.39.png] I’m not too sure how helpful this can be for you, also it’s no make any changes the any thing except instilling modules and Adding the module to my config/config.js until mic icon show up. modules: [ { module: 'MMM-Remote-Control', // uncomment the following line to show the URL of the remote control on the mirror // position: 'bottom_right', // you can hide this module afterwards from the remote control itself //ipWhitelist: ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "......ip....address..."], ipWhitelist: ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "....ip......address...."], }, { module: 'alert', }, { module: "updatenotification", position: "top_bar" }, { module: 'calendar_monthly', position: 'top_left', config: { } }, { module: 'currentweather', position: 'top_right', config: { location: 'London,GB', locationID: '......................', //ID from http://www.openweathermap.org appid: '.........................' } }, { module: 'clock', position: 'top_center', config: { displayType: 'analog', clockBold: 'true', analogSize: '240px', analogFace: 'face-008', secondsColor: '#bf1a1a', } }, { module: 'weatherforecast', position: 'top_right', header: 'Weather Forecast', config: { location: 'London,GB', locationID: '............', //ID from http://www.openweathermap.org appid: ......................................', onlyTemp: true } }, { module: 'MMM-SystemStats', position: 'bottom_right', // This can be any of the regions. classes: 'small dimmed', // Add your own styling.
