@johnnyboy Because you like hearing from me and like dropping my name You know, if you build a frame that extends past the edge of the box that will contain the monitor, you can effectively hide the joystick and not have to johnnyboy around with the wiring. Now, looking at your pictures closely, (I counted the 8 wires and the 8 pins) I would say that each of the eight wires of the harness connect to only one pin each via the clip connector on both the monitor circuit board and the joystick circuit board. With that, and IMHO, I would say that you can lengthen each wire, being careful to match the gauge of the wire as closely as possible. Also, being careful to splice the correct wires to each other. I would use shrinkwrap/crimp connectors for the splicing for proper connection and insulation. Seeing as you’ll only be extending these wires a few inches (from what I can see) you won’t encounter any resistance problems or degradation in performance of the joystick. Peace bro . . .

@johnnyboy I don’t know if there is a difference but try both. But like you must have read in the other thread, it doesn’t get absolutely absolute. It will still display an event 2 days from now as “The day after tomorrow” & next day’s event as “tomorrow”. fadepoint is to define, from where the events list will start to face out. “//” is used to mark start of a comment made by the programmer .

You could always build a Plex Media Server and then run the webapp for Plex on the Pi your Mirror is running. I think you can even control it through a smartphone (not 100% sure on that though). It is free and the server is super simple to install (I have it installed on my Mac Mini, but there are ways you can install it on a Pi). If you are going the Pi route though, I would recommend doing it on a Pi that is only for that purpose, since it will be doing a lot of work.

@johnnyboy for testing purposes you can also start the mirror with npm start dev, which shows developer tools and the top menu bar

@johnnyboy In fact the # marks single lines as a comment and as such the statement on this line will not be interpreted. Good you found it in the end!

I have my MM running Amazon’s Alexa, as well, using this software. Running both seems to make the Alexa app a bit buggier, though
