Most monitors are IPS panels while most TV’s are VA panels. IPS has wider viewing angles with consistent color. The VA panels have better refresh rates for motion (which is not commonly needed for something like a mirror).
TV’s can be an easy choice because they can be much more available and a remote could be useful. A monitor will generally make for a preferred screen by having better viewing angles and being lighter overall.
Unfortunately, the Twitter integration module isn’t working these days. That would be an interesting module to present in a store. @mdhenriksen’s idea of a photo gallery of products is pretty slick.
I’m trying to load the google routes module, I’ve entered the api key and the city ids but all that shows up is a white square? Any help will be greatly appreciated
I’ve been monitoring these forums for a while as well as had my RaspberryPi 3 B+ since they came out and well now I think I’m ready to take the plunge this weekend. Do you guys have any advice for me on how to go about it? What steps I should do first? Anything will be appreciated.
@slametps Thank you so much! I ended up getting a monitor.
@almasgai Please ensure that if your requirement and goal about MM is also involving sound output, using TV rather than monitor is better choice, except monitor is already has built-in speaker. It is also my consideration about using TV for my MM.
@SoleLo If you’re going to recess the cabinet into the wall, you could make a cheap box out of 2x4’s a few inches bigger than the medicine cabinet to run all of your wiring into and keep it in the wall. Then just pop in some cleats to mount the medicine cabinet into. The displays that I try and use have USB ports on them that give out enough power to run a pi zero so the only cable/cord you would need would be power to the display itself. you could probably just use some cable staples to fasten the cord to the hinge side and keep it fairly clean looking.
