[MMM-PIR-Sensor] Install failing
-
Hi, i tried to install the module MMM-PIR-Sensor. I did it like its explained here:
https://github.com/paviro/MMM-PIR-Sensor
After installing the module i opened the config.js file an added:
{ module: 'MMM-PIR-Sensor', config: { sensorPIN: 23, powerSaving: true, relayPIN: none, relayOnState: 1, } },The way i connected the sensor is shown in the following picture:

But when i want to start the magic mirror it says that i have to add a correct config.js file.
What did i wrong? Please help me guys ;) -
@STEFF92
Did you change the name of the config File from “config.js.sample” to “config.js”? -
@Jay yes i did. The basic modules like clock or weather are running but when i add the module for the PIR sensor in the config.js file i cant start the magic mirror

Delete the ‘,’ in te last line (relayOnState: 1)

What is not working;- Do you still have the problem with the config.sys, when post your config.sys here.
- Is the PIR not switching off you screen?
-
@johnnyboy But it doesnt matter as long as i use the gpio that belongs to this pin or am i wrong?
-
@pjkoeleman when i want to start the magic mirror it says that i should create a correct config.js file. But the only thing i added in my config.js file (which runs without the following lines) is:
{ module: 'MMM-PIR-Sensor', config: { sensorPIN: 23, powerSaving: true, relayPIN: none, relayOnState: 1, } }, -

@STEFF92 none is not a valid js value either use
{ module: 'MMM-PIR-Sensor', config: { sensorPIN: 23, powerSaving: true, relayPIN: false, relayOnState: 1 } },or like this, because
relayPINis set to false by default{ module: 'MMM-PIR-Sensor', config: { sensorPIN: 23, powerSaving: true, relayOnState: 1 } }, -
@strawberry-3.141 Thanks, now the config file and the magic mirror surface are running but there is no response from the sensor. i have moved the potentiometer but the screen doesnt turn off. Do you know any possible mistake i could have made?

@STEFF92 I guess you might defined the wrong pin number according on your setup you use gpio23 which is pin 16 in this diagram https://forum.magicmirror.builders/uploads/files/1485851152518-raspberry-pi-15b.jpg, but I never did something with the gpio of the pi

Hi all,
I’ve been trying to instal this module, but i’m bumping into the issue of needing node module 53, as it was compiled with 48. I’ve been at this all day and i’m really struggling. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance!

@Oliver_Tooth
Please search this forum for “version mismatch”. I’m on my smartphone right now, otherwise I would post the command necessary.
You need to rebuild the module with a special command providing the version info related to your system
