Hi! Thank you for your hint. We use a differente alarmsoftware, so I have to look
for the options. With RSS it’s a pretty good idea.

    Hi there,

I’ve made this more than one year ago, but never showed it up over here.

I’ve built my own software from scratch, it runs on a android smartphone instead a raspberry (I’m not a big fan of webapps).

(dunno how to insert a video on this forum)

    Cheers!

Nice, that looks really good! Hidden cables are the best! ;)

Love the floorplan, I’m working on something like that, too.

@termeric said in Finsihed my first mirror:

I added a back to the mirror and drilled some holes for ventilation, but i may either take it off or drill a few more since i’m getting the temperature indicator on the screen.

    Nice job. Looks great!

IMHO, no need for a back at all. You can also drill ventilation holes in the the sides and the top and bottom. You will see a significant improvement in temp. And don’t rule out heatsinks or a fan. Both are inexpensive and you’ll never worry about heat again. When you see results like this you’ll sleep better. :-)

    HI,
Thanks to this forum for all the information here, It took me a while to understand everything. I am running it on a Pi 3 and I custom made the frame. The frame has LED’s with an independent switch, eventually I will change how the lights turn on and off. Again thank you all on this forum.!

@nissin I couldn’t get any motion sensor app to work properly so I have two plugs coming out of the mirror. One powers the pi which is always on and the other goes into a motion sensing plug that turns the monitor on when someone is in the room. No other added Electricals although I will probably put a philips hue light strip around the inside of the frame. Calendar module is just the standard one and the weather is the weather underground module which I really like.

    Good job!
I bought a custom glass mirror from a local shop in Rennes (France). It’s very good looking but also very expensive (95€ for about the same size as yours).

@Mykle1 Yes, that’s weird. As far as I can recall I didn’t do anything different when I uploaded the first load of pictures for the main post. I took them on my iphone (which has not changed all year) and uploaded them via dropbox to my home laptop, and copied them into the post from there, however comparing the dimensions of them on my hard disk, maybe dropbox resized the original ones for me… I don’t remember changing any settings…

@saurabh76 You’re welcome! Thanks for your interest!

Interesting on the ACD cmd line option. Let me know if you come up with something as that would be awesome. Had been thinking of Flickr due to the options it has, but haven’t seen a good way to easily create a module which can access hundreds or thousands of Flickr photos randomly.
