Finally I found the time to bring my 6 year old Cybertecture Mirror back to life. Sneak Peek from ubergizmo I installed a 60GB SSD and installed Linux Mint. MagicMirror2 runs great on it. The original software was at that time still in beta-stage and therefore not fully developed. At that time I tried to write my own software because there was nothing comparable at that time. But I gave it up pretty quickly. Here you can see the last update many years ago… First Software test Next I try to program a module which can communicate with the original body scales. I want to make the cables disappear in the wall and connect it to Homeassistant. Now the mirror is hanging in the hallway and the second one’s probably in the bathroom or he will be sold. I look forward to lively discussions with you! [image: 0_1506374938446__20170925_232846.JPG]

Nevermind my rambling earlier. :) Looks good tho! 400 SEK for the mirror sounds like a bargain, hope I get something similar when I visit my glass shop. Do you know how thick the glass will be?

Here’s my effort! It currently uses these modules…clock, Google calendar, openhab floor plan showing lights and temps, bus timetable for 2 local routes, weather, compliments, network speed monitor, Google traffic map and cctv feed (bottom right, camera was offline!) All this is backlit with rgb leds controlled from openhab2! (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Y3FEyfKYgkaFZuREhNZVNlenc/view?usp=drivesdk)

@shashank, on the non-touch use of a timer, I don’t have anything built in. Maybe it could be integrated with one of the voice recognition modules. I have an Amazon Echo nearby. It’d be cool to show the real-time status of Alexa timers, but I haven’t seen a way to do that.

@lucallmon said in First Build - 30" w/ custom frame and AlexaPi integration: @cyberphox https://github.com/alexa-pi/AlexaPi with https://github.com/dgonano/MMM-AlexaPi module. Can the Alexa wake word be modified to something specific like “Magic Mirror”?

@Chiumanfu yeah it works well. Once I figured out that I had the sensitivity and timeout options flipped, that is!! As you would imagine, the sensor is very directional – you need to be standing in front of the mirror for it be triggered, but it will pick up motion across its path well across the room. If the screen is fully off, the PIR sensor picks up motion early enough that the TV has a chance to come fully on by the time you walk up to the mirror.
