and there are lots of cool docker containers to use dozzle will tell you about the status of all the containers [image: 1705537102672-screenshot-at-2024-01-17-18-13-45-resized.png] uptime-kuma can let you check and report on the status of different ‘apps’ web urls, connections… and send alerts [image: 1705537153911-screenshot-at-2024-01-17-18-17-23-resized.png] watchtower will watch all the versions of the docker containers and auto upgrade them as they change… my son and I have realized that if we lose our home network, there is no way for all this to tell us… so we are going to add uptime-kuma monitors of things running in the others house and then alert them if there is a lost connection.

@BKeyport - Hrm. Well, whatever the issue is, it is apparently only affecting me. I have a workaround, so I’ll manage.

Update! Version 1.1.1 has been released. V1.1.1 Added an option to introduce a delay between the popups. During the delay period the map will fly back to the origin lat/lon and wait for the designated period.

Sorry about the delay! Lots of other projects going on at the Fortress Hepler. To answer your questions, @johnnyboy : I created a simple one-line script that plays the video on a loop and then added it to the PM2 management via pm2 start boo.sh and pm2 save. I disabled the Magic Mirror interface via pm2 stop MagicMirror and pm2 save. Now when then mirror boots, PM2 only watches over the script that calls the video playback. It’s not running the MagicMirror interface. No sense using all that overhead and calls to the weather API when it’s not being displayed. Caveat: the right display runs a video on loop under normal circumstances. Commenting out the one line that runs that video file and adding a line to play a different video file was trivial. Yes, VLC has the option to play a playlist or single file on a loop. You can find the command line options at VLC Help Not really. The file is already on the disk and sized to the resolution of the monitor. There’s no CPU or GPU intensive tasks and the on board hardware acceleration takes care of most of it. @elitecybernet - Yeah, there is sound included in the video files. I turned it down as it got really distracting really quickly. The video is only like 3 minutes long and hearing the demonic laughter every 3 minutes got old. I think the left portrait was at 50% volume and the right was completely muted. Now that Halloween is gone, I reverted the left & right displays to their original format. Because PM2 manages the scripts, it took all of 30 seconds per display. The hardest part was remembering their IP address so I could log in.

@Cr4z33 - I can do better than guess. I bought it from www.twowaymirrors.com. They have a rep, @twowaymirrors who is on this forum every so often. They were great and I pretty much only use them at this point. It’s their 50% transmission model, I think. I’d have to check the receipt.

Just an FYI - I tried it today and it played the video first time, with no issues on an RPI 4. It would appear that something has changed in the default Buster installation.

I had the same issue just recently and can confirm that switching to full KMS solves the issue. Don’t know the reason for this however.

Depending on the setup, it may actually be easier to have a monitor that’s the same size you’d use for a rectangular MM, and then block the corners off with either a wide frame or drywall if it’s truly inset. From there, you can just use CSS to “bump” modules left, right, up, or down on the screen so they’re positioned right into the curves of the glass. As long as it’s not gonna be changed a whole lot, that might work just fine also…

Update: I’ve traced this to the MMM-RTSPStream module. Disabling this module lets PM2 restart the process normally. I’ll take this problem over there. Feel free to close this out.
