@sdetweil not really. I have it running desktop-less on my Pi Zero W. There are some scripts behind that run virtual browser and take screenshot of it. It’s described in the link above that inspired me to do this.

@beuzzette no, I have no ideas on inexpensive displays. I am always looking. I just upgraded my hall display to a 43 in-4k tv, to better display my photography. $100 us. but not led. was 32in 1080p.

@deanonoire Great Job! Actually, I personally wouldn’t modify the frame and leave it as it is. It has s kind of special rural look, that I like.

@doppelganger It isn’t really that bad. Unfortunately that was an early Fathers Day gift and now at fathers, so I can’t show the exact configuration . But for instance, the below gives you shadows and radiused corners. I just copied from the CSS on @Piranha1605 Black Boxes example and dropped it in my custom.css file. Just delete modules you don’t have, add ones you do have. For me that meant deleting newsfeed, compliments and both the weatherforecast and currentweather since the weather module takes place of current and forecast. /** module.color_border_shadow */ .module.clock, .module.calendar, .module.newsfeed, .module.weatherforecast, .module.currentweather, .module.compliments { padding:8px; border-radius: 10px; box-shadow: 0 2em 6em #000; background: transparent; } So mine is: module.clock module.calendar module.weather module.MMM-SmartWebDisplay { padding:8px; border-radius: 15px; box-shadow: 0 2em 6em #000; background: transparent; } The iFrame was a roll of dice on my part but it worked with no problems I increased border-radius: to 15px (I think) but may be 12px and got more of a radius than in the original example. I copy/pasted his header from the #3 example neomorphism to get the headers on the weather and calendar to get shadowed look. Clock has no header so no effect.

Hi @reaper81, awesome good looking mirror you have built! Another question regarding the window foil. Was it already mounted on the back of the mirror or did you do this on your own. If yes for “on your own”, what kind of foil was it in order to have a proper connection between mirror glass, foil and wooden frame?

Hi @bachoo786 , no, I have no problems with it at all. However, I have been using Ubiquiti access points at home for a long time, because my router (FritzBox) was not able to deliver stable WiFi everywhere. Since then I have no more problems

@keaghoul first of all you need check the model nr. of the screen. its probably an LG screen, but i don’t know the model nr. with that you can look on Ebay for a display controller for that particular screen. if the PSU is still oke you kan use that one. you have to check which outlet is 12V+ continue is. and you can power the screen with that. also you need a inverter from 12v to 5v for the Raspberry. if you wan’t to use the the speakers u need also en simple AMP i use the TDA7297, i used a other one before but that one gives a white noise.

Hello mirror builders, What is the best mirror size for a 24 inch screen? I want to tilt the monitor (vertically) in line with the mirror. I would like to know your opinion and whether someone has used a 24 inch monitor for their mirror and what format is used for this. I like to hear it! Regards, Marcel

Hi OberfragGer Yes i know, but now it is set and good ;-) In a couple of month i renovate my apartment including the kitchen, entrance hall and living room, so i want to hide the wire. Maybe i set a new powerwallplug behind or above the cabinet. But for me it is ok. Thank you for your hints. Greetings Torsten

@jeremy0213 I’m looking to do exactly this. Did you ever get around to adding PIR, assistant integration/microphone (Alexa), and touch frame capabilities? How has it been used in the past ~1.5 years? Hoping your family loves it as much as I hope my family does!

@sdetweil said in Starting My Magic Mirror Project: @imchrisrein the point of the QR code is so you don’t have to display it on screen too… u can at least turn off the password display Yeah I just figured if someone comes in with a laptop, how will they scan the QR code? Before I did this module I couldn’t remember my guest wifi password and would just let them sign on the main one because it was easier.
