Thanks for this option, been looking for a way to get radar shown on the Mirror.

Question, on the website you are pulling this from, there is an option to zoom in for a closer look at certain areas of the country. Like the midwest, I can zoom in on Missouri and get what I would rather have instead of the whole country which makes it slightly difficult to see my area (unless I have it set to fullscreen, but even then, I would love to be able to focus it on a smaller area)

I tried adding cursor: zoom-in; but it doesn’t work. the magnifying glass shows, but when clicked, it does nothing.

Any Ideas? Anyone?

@strawberry-3-141 not sure if it’s related to the latest MM update but since a little while, notification from the syslog, only show the “type” and nothing for the message itself…

Is there a way to add a function to show, on the main screen of the mirror the Train Status?

The idea is use this site (http://viaggiatreno.it/vt_pax_internet/mobile?lang=EN) to show the daily train status that I use every day.

Example:
At 7AM (monday to friday), show the status of the train number 11666 on the mirror.

I wanted to do this as well. I found the best solution for myself was to use the MMM-Wunderlist module.
(You need the Wunderlist app on your mobile device as well. )

It’s a ToDo list and you can get messages to show up on the mirror by adding them to a specific List.
This way you can have multiple messages showing up. And to get rid of the messages you can just tick that item off the list.
You can also share lists with other Wunderlist users so they can also add and tick of items.

Note:
One thing I did find as well is that it did stop updating after so many hours of running. Never found out what caused this, there are some other threads on here regarding the same issue (the same with ToDoist module)
The way I got around that was to set up a schedule to restart the MagicMirror a few times a day.

Hope this helps or that you find an alternative solution, would be interested if there was an alternative easier way.

@mykle1 Ahh, I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. The one problem I had was an issue with RTSP-Stream locking up overnight. Fixed that by switching to ffmpeg from omxplayer.

Both boxes are currently running MMM-Carousel in positional mode.

The smaller screen one (uses the “pi touch screen” to the screen port) has one position alternating the two weather modules, world-clock with seconds running, calendar, and RTSP-Stream running ffmpeg mode nearly flawlessly (once in a while, it’ll slow the video).

The one I want the scrolling for uses MMM-Carousel now to switch out screens for MMM-NFL and MMM-MyScoreboard (2-3 copies so that the scoreboard don’t flow off the screen in my temporary install) - it also runs the default news app, calendar, MMM-Darksky, and the default clock.

Neither have any problems with existing animations, smooth as silk except for the previously mentioned ffmpeg issue.

@lavolp3 OK, for those who are interested I have managed to implement it myself locally into calendar.js

You can see that “urgency” dates are now shown as weekdays (in the first calendar) and not as relative ones. I have added a further variable “urgencyStyle” to choose between relative (“in xx days”) and absolute (“xday”) dates as soon as urgency hits.

But if your case be somehow regularly, you could make some script or program to compose and encode “config.js” file from some defined structure with python or any other language.
Basically, config.js is some kind of JSON object(or like-something), So you can prepare one template object, and manipulate the object with your purpose by condition. Then write it into config.js file.
